Identity
What is already true about the person or business before we start trying to package it.
We start with who the person or business already is, then understand the market around them and build the messaging, content and creative system from there.
The work starts by understanding what is already there, not by reaching for a tone, trend or template.
What is already true about the person or business before we start trying to package it.
Who needs to notice, trust or understand the brand for the work to move forward.
What the space already sounds and looks like, and where sameness has crept in.
How the brand should sound, look and show up without becoming a costume.
The final scope is bespoke. The point is to give the brand a clearer centre, then build outward from it.
Good branding is not pretending to be different. It is understanding what is already yours and making that easier for other people to recognise.
An athlete can arrive with that sentence. The useful work is understanding what makes them worth noticing, who needs to notice and what should be repeated consistently.
“I want to be noticed more.”
Understand the athlete first: what they stand for, how they compete, how they speak and what they are actually building toward.
Look at the audience, sponsors, other athletes and the content already competing for attention.
Build the messaging, slogans, content direction and repeatable ideas around that identity.
The aim is not to sand away everything unusual until the brand looks professional. It is to find the parts that are true, useful and memorable, then give them enough structure to work in public.
That is why the process can include strategy, writing, content, digital design or campaign ideas. The output changes. The centre should not.
You do not need to arrive with a polished brief. You may only know that the current brand is not being understood, remembered or taken as seriously as it should be.
The discovery call is where we unpack the person, the offer, the audience and the market before deciding what the brand actually needs next.
Start with who you are, what you are trying to do and who needs to understand it.
